For me traveling never gets old, and being a traveling newborn photographer is so much fun! What an honor to be flown across the US to photograph a sweet little babe. When I first started my business I was an in home photographer, toting all my stuff to and from my client’s homes, and it was a LOT of work. When I created my in home studio my world completely changed and newborn sessions were so much easier and fun. Enter in studio lights three years later and my work went to an entirely new level. I’ll never regret the studio or the lights, but there is something so humbling about going back to the beginning, using natural light, and working with what I have available. It reminds me that I’ve come so far, worked really hard at my craft, and that I can make it work no matter what. I certainly can’t fly with a 40 inch bean bag, backdrop stand, and studio lights. What I CAN fly with is two suitcases full of blankets, wraps, and hats, and a creative mind.
When Julie and Byron emailed me to tell me they wanted me to come take newborn photos for them I literally squealed with joy! Just one year prior I had the honor of photographing their gorgeous white Telluride wedding, and now I was going to be able to photograph their first baby! I know I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it 100 more times, I LOVE growing with my families. Getting to see this kind, generous, amazing couple grow into a family was such a wonderful experience.
I did have to get creative with this session. A nifty little couch, crate, and some clips did the job. Thank goodness for my posing pillows!
Thank you Julie and Byron for trusting me with these precious, once in a lifetime images. I am so grateful for clients like you.
